This record's own dek states that 2016 keeps the same 365 hp and 3.16:1 Performance Package, but the EPA rating drops to 16 mpg city, 24 highway, and 19 combined, and SYNC 3 arrives in the Taurus line. This record's own overview states that Ford's 2016 Taurus brochure keeps the SHO's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 at 365 hp at 5,500 rpm and 350 lb-ft at 3,000 rpm on 93-octane fuel, with that EPA rating lower than in 2015's own brochure, which this record's own overview cites directly at 17 mpg city, 25 highway, and 20 combined for comparison.

This record's own overview states that the brochure repeats Ford-tested figures of 5.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and a 14.4-second quarter-mile, and that Equipment Group 400A lists a 2.77:1 final drive, 13.85-inch vented front rotors, and 20-inch machined-and-painted wheels with P245/45R20 all-season tires, with a 20-inch 10-spoke ebony-painted wheel available at no extra charge. This record's own overview states that the Performance Package keeps the 3.16:1 final drive, enhanced suspension, and summer tires, that SYNC 3 is introduced across the 2016 Taurus line, and that no production figures or reliable prices were found, a statement this record's own prices section appears to qualify rather than fully bear out.

This record's own prices section documents an MSRP of $40,385 against a $38,164 dealer invoice, a spread of $2,221, both from the buyer's-guide database. This record's own production row carries a null value and a status of not-published for the year, with its own note stating that no published figure was found, and its own production notes stating that the SHO exterior colors documented in this record are those the brochure marks as available with the SHO interior trims, marketing material showing what was offered, not what was built.1

This record's own options section documents Equipment Group 401A, adding auto high beams with rain-sensing wipers, BLIS with cross-traffic alert, a heated steering wheel, heated rear outboard seats, a rear-window sunshade, and Sony audio with 12 speakers and HD Radio, and the Driver Assist Package, adding adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, a Lane-Keeping System, and active park assist, which requires 401A and cannot be combined with the Performance Package. A power moonroof and a five-year SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link subscription with voice-activated navigation are also documented.

Eight exterior colors are documented for the year without production counts, including White Platinum Metallic Tri-coat and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat at extra charge, Bronze Fire Metallic Tinted Clearcoat at extra charge and limited to trim 8 only, alongside Ingot Silver, Blue Jeans, Magnetic, Guard, and Shadow Black. Two interior trims, coded 8 and 9, are documented, both Charcoal Black leather with front-seat embroidered SHO graphics, one with Charcoal Black perforated inserts and one with Mayan Gray Miko sueded perforated inserts.

This record's own specifications section documents the 2.77:1 standard final drive against the 3.16:1 Performance Package ratio, 13.85-inch vented front rotors, a 112.9-inch wheelbase, and the 16 mpg city and 24 mpg highway EPA ratings already noted. This record's own performance section documents the same Ford-claimed 5.5-second 0-60 mph time and 14.4-second quarter-mile, both explicitly marked as based on Ford testing, an advertising claim rather than an independent test.

The numbers

Coverage: Partial — researched sections are shown; missing ones are not yet sourced. Researched through 2026-09-23.

Every figure is labeled with how sure we are. Reported means a manufacturer, registry, or reference figure we cite but have not reconciled against factory records ourselves. Disputed means credible sources disagree and both are shown. Rows are separately scoped; don't add them together unless the note says they make up a total.

Key facts

  • EPA 16/24/19 mpg (AWD), down from 17/25/20 in the 2015 brochure.
  • Ford-claimed 0-60 mph 5.5 s; quarter-mile 14.4 s.

SHO exterior colors are those the 2016 Taurus brochure marks as available with the SHO interior trims; the brochure is marketing material and shows what was offered, not what was built.

No whole-year 2016 SHO production figure was found. The Ford Show Parts certificate is not listed for this year, and a forum member reported Ford could supply only 2012 and 2013 numbers on request (see the 2012 record). Searched 2026-09-29: shoforum.com and Blue Oval Forums threads (the latter keeps its figures in a PDF attachment that could not be read), the Ford Show Parts product page and web searches on Ford, Flat Rock and Chicago Assembly SHO counts; ecoboostownerforums.com returned HTTP 403 and was not read. A Ford or plant statement of the 2016 SHO build count would close it.
