1980 Pontiac Firebird and Trans Am: The Turbo Trans Am Arrives

For 1980 the big Pontiac V-8s were gone. A Turbo Trans Am paced the Indianapolis 500, and Pontiac built 5,700 Pace Car editions; in all, 50,896 Trans Ams were built, 22,176 of them turbocharged by the sum of this record's own engine rows.
