MuscleCarClub's table gives 51,026 Firebirds for 1995, this record's own overview states, including 2,926 Firebird, 1,037 Formula and 2,402 Trans Am convertibles, the last of those the key fact this record leads with. That total split 26,230 base coupes, 7,488 Formula coupes and 10,943 Trans Am coupes alongside the three convertible counts, and this record's own production notes state that the Pontiac Trans Am Page's own coupe-plus-convertible totals match MuscleCarClub for Firebird and Trans Am but not Formula, where the Trans Am Page gives 8,485 against MuscleCarClub's 8,525.1

A CompNine VIN-database count runs as a separate, larger lineage: 56,723 cars in all, and this record's own conflicts note states plainly that the CompNine count is higher than MuscleCarClub's in every model line, with neither table treated as a GM factory report. Within that count, 1995 was the changeover year from the 3.4-liter L32 six to the 3.8-liter L36, with 2,281 coupes and 376 convertibles already carrying the new L36 against 26,098 coupes and 2,972 convertibles still on the outgoing L32.2

The Trans Am split 13,072 Y82 coupes, itself including 250 R6V-coded Firehawk cars and 74 Comp T/A coupes, against just 5 Trans Am GT (Y83) coupes and 3,097 Y84 convertibles. This record's own conflicts note documents the resulting Firehawk and Comp T/A gap directly: the Firehawk Association reports 569 SLP-converted coupes, 102 convertibles and 72 Comp T/A cars, while CompNine counts 609 and 103 R6V-coded Formulas plus 74 Comp T/A, the club counting SLP conversions and the VIN database counting GM-coded base cars, populations this record keeps distinct rather than merged.2,3

Of the SLP-built cars, 397 Firehawk coupes carried the six-speed against 172 automatic, with 351 of those coupes fitted with T-tops, while the 102 Firehawk convertibles split 61 six-speed to 41 automatic; every one of the 72 Comp T/A cars was finished in Bright Silver (13U) with Graphite leather, 48 six-speed and 24 automatic, 42 with T-tops. This record carries no price section for 1995, for the reason given in its own price notes: a J.D. Power valuation figure was pulled from every page on the site because those live pages can change without notice and cannot be independently checked.3

Two engines are carried in this record's own MuscleCarClub-sourced engine table: the L32 3.4-liter V-6 at 160 hp and 200 lb-ft for the base Firebird, and the LT1 5.7-liter V-8 at 275 hp and 325 lb-ft for Formula and Trans Am. Notably, this record's own engine table carries no separate L36 entry despite the changeover the CompNine production rows document in detail, a gap between the two sections this record does not reconcile.1

What the record documents in full is the fourth generation's strongest convertible year alongside a mid-year V-6 changeover: three separately scoped production tables, a 3.4-to-3.8 engine transition visible in the production rows but not yet reflected in the engine table, and a Firehawk and Comp T/A population this record keeps split between SLP's own conversion counts and CompNine's GM-coded base-car counts rather than treating either one as the single authoritative figure.1

MuscleCarClub rows partition 51,026. The Pontiac Trans Am Page's coupe-plus-convertible totals match MuscleCarClub for Firebird and Trans Am but not Formula (8,485 against 8,525).

CompNine rows count VINs in a commercial VIN database; the nine Firebird, Formula and Trans Am body rows partition its 56,723. They are a separate lineage from the MuscleCarClub and Pontiac Trans Am Page rows and are not added to them.

Prices when new *

No price is shown here. One was, until 2026-09-24: a figure from J.D. Power's live valuation pages, pulled from every page on this site because those pages can change without our knowing and we have no way to check them independently. We haven't found a source we can stand behind to put in its place yet. A price for this car elsewhere that looks suspiciously exact may be quoting that same J.D. Power figure rather than confirming it — several sites we checked turned out to be doing exactly that, without saying so.
