Production fell to 20,927 for 2001, this record's own overview states, a figure MuscleCarClub's table gives as the all-model total, the key fact this record leads with. This record's own production notes state that CompNine's own five body rows, 7,191 Firebird coupes, 2,347 Firebird convertibles, 1,001 Formula coupes, 9,273 Trans Am coupes and 1,115 Trans Am convertibles, partition that same 20,927 figure, so the VIN compilation and MuscleCarClub form one lineage this year rather than two competing ones.1,2
A second, uncited total of 21,436 appears on the CompNine breakdown page itself, printed beside the VIN count without a named source; this record's own production note states the compiler treats it as the fuller figure, and several of the page's own body and package rows note the CompNine VIN figure falls short of that second source: 1,037 Formula coupes against 1,001, 9,669 Trans Am coupes against 9,273, and 1,192 Trans Am convertibles against 1,115. The page attributes the shortfall to about 509 of the 21,436 cars missing from the VIN database.2

The Firehawk Association's own SLP production total for 2001 reached 540 cars, 504 US and 36 Canadian, broken out as 31 Formula coupes, 39 Formula T-tops, 425 Trans Am T-tops and 45 Trans Am convertibles, 356 six-speed against 184 automatic. This record's own production notes carry SLP's own color split, 39 Arctic White, 282 Black, 83 Bright Red, 19 Sunset Orange, 67 Navy Blue and 50 Pewter Metallic, and add that SLP fitted its 1LE suspension to 60 Firehawks that carry no GM 1LE code. A separate, uncited NHRA special edition (RPO 1SH) reached 143 cars, with no body or transmission split given.3,4

The first pass found only an all-model total. Model, body, WS6, anniversary and Firehawk rows now come from the CompNine VIN compilation and, for Firehawks, the Firehawk Association; each carries its own scope note.
Firehawk cars were SLP conversions sold through Pontiac dealers; their counts need SLP records and are not factory production.
CompNine rows count VINs in a commercial VIN database and are lower bounds for 2001; its five body rows (7,191 + 2,347 + 1,001 + 9,273 + 1,115) partition its 20,927, the same figure MuscleCarClub prints as the all-model total, so those two are one lineage.
The SLP Firehawk rows come from SLP's 2001 production summary and count conversions, not GM production. SLP's Firehawk colour split: Arctic White 39, Black 282, Bright Red 83, Sunset Orange 19, Navy Blue 67, Pewter Metallic 50. SLP fitted its 1LE suspension to 60 Firehawks without GM's 1LE code.
