This record's own dek describes 2012 as the year the 365-hp EcoBoost SHO becomes Equipment Group 400A, with the Performance Package carried over and Dark Blue Pearl listed where the 2011 brochure had Kona Blue, a comparison drawn from this record's own dek text. This record's own overview states that Ford's 2012 Taurus brochure lists the SHO's Equipment Group 400A content as the 365-hp 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, all-wheel drive, electric power-actuated steering with drift control, black-painted brake calipers, a sport-tuned suspension, Miko Suede seat inserts, HID headlamps, and 19-inch Luster Nickel wheels with P255/45R19 tires, EPA-rated at 17 mpg city, 25 highway, and 20 combined.

This record's own overview states that the SHO Performance Package carries over with the 3.16:1 final drive against the standard 2.77:1, and that the brochure marks the voice-activated navigation system as coming fall 2011. This record's own options section documents that package's full content: performance brake pads, sport-calibrated steering, a stability-control Sport Mode, the 3.16:1 final drive, 20-inch painted aluminum wheels with P245/45R20 summer tires, and a tire sealant and inflation kit, not combinable with adaptive cruise control.

This record's own production section states that no production figures for this generation were found in a published source, with its own production row carrying a null value and a status of not-published, and its own note stating that a forum member reports Ford can supply 2012 figures on request, though none were found in print. This record's own prices section documents an MSRP of $38,155 against a $35,025 dealer invoice, a spread of $3,130, with the effective date of the MSRP not stated by the buyer's-guide database.1

This record's own options section also documents Equipment Group 401A, adding a power moonroof, Sony audio with 12 speakers and 390 watts, and heated and cooled front seats, and Equipment Group 402A, adding that same content plus heated rear seats, a rear-window sunshade, memory power pedals, auto high beams, BLIS with cross-traffic alert, and rain-sensing wipers. Voice-activated navigation with hard drive, HD Radio, and SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link is documented as requiring 401A or 402A, with the same "coming fall 2011" note repeated in this record's own options entry.

Six exterior colors are documented for the year without production counts, including White Platinum Metallic Tri-coat and Red Candy Metallic Tinted Clearcoat at additional charge, alongside Ingot Silver Metallic, Sterling Gray Metallic, Dark Blue Pearl Metallic, and Black, none of the six carrying a production figure in this record. Two interior trims are documented, both Charcoal Black leather with perforated Miko Suede inserts, one in Charcoal Black and one in Umber, both standard on the SHO.

This record's own specifications section documents the 2.77:1 standard final drive against the 3.16:1 Performance Package ratio, a 112.9-inch wheelbase, a 202.9-inch overall length, and EPA ratings of 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. This record's own performance, identification, and conflicts sections are all empty for the year, and its unpublished leads section documents the same forum claim already noted in this record's own production notes, that Ford could supply 2012 and 2013 SHO production numbers on request, flagged as forum-only.

Coverage: Partial — researched sections are shown; missing ones are not yet sourced. Researched through 2026-09-22.

Every figure is labeled with how sure we are. Reported means a manufacturer, registry, or reference figure we cite but have not reconciled against factory records ourselves. Disputed means credible sources disagree and both are shown. Rows are separately scoped; don't add them together unless the note says they make up a total.

No whole-year 2012 SHO production figure was found. Ford Show Parts lists its certificate of authenticity, which it says carries model-year production totals, for 2010 through 2013 only. Owner-typed 2013 readings exist only as a forum lead (see the 2013 record); for this year no thread, page or post was found that reads a total off the certificate. Searched 2026-09-29: shoforum.com and Blue Oval Forums threads (the latter keeps its figures in a PDF attachment that could not be read), the Ford Show Parts product page and web searches on Ford, Flat Rock and Chicago Assembly SHO counts; ecoboostownerforums.com returned HTTP 403 and was not read. A reading of the 2012 certificate, or a Ford statement of the total, would close it.
