The 360 replaced the 340 as the Dart Sport's performance engine for 1974. Dodge's own 1974 Dart and Challenger brochure carries the Dart line into the year but prints no production data at all; Flory's later reference book confirmed 3,951 Dart Sport 360s under style number LM29, a figure this record's own production notes say had previously circulated only as an unpublished web-search lead before Flory's table gave it a named, citable source.1
Flory's own table prints a percentage-change column alongside each row, and for the Sport 360 that figure reads -65.08%, a comparison this record's own note ties specifically to the 1973 Dart Sport 340's production count rather than to some unstated prior period. The base Dart Sport, style LL29, is separately given at 59,567, and summing Flory's two rows yields 63,518, a total this record computes itself and marks as estimated rather than treating as a line Flory printed directly.1
No horsepower or torque rating for the 360 four-barrel was found in either the Dodge brochure or Flory's table, so this record's engine row carries displacement, induction, and availability without a power figure; the brochure does describe the 360 as fitted with bright-tip dual exhausts as part of its standard specification. A three-speed manual was standard on the Dart 360 Sport, with a four-speed manual with Hurst shifter optional either with the 360 V8 or with the separate Dart Sport Rallye Package, and TorqueFlite automatic optional as well. The 360's standard axle ratio differed by transmission, 3.21:1 with either manual gearbox against 2.94:1 with TorqueFlite, with 3.55:1 optional in both cases. Standard tires ran E70 x 14 bias-belted blackwalls on 15 x 5.5 wheels, with power front discs standard.
The Sport Rallye Package, despite its name's echo of the 360 Sport, was actually built around the smaller 318 V8 rather than the 360, bundling a four-speed manual, power steering, special suspension with a front sway bar, E70x14 raised-white-letter tires, Rallye wheels, a "Tuff" steering wheel, a deluxe vinyl bench seat, and "Dodge" lettering on the quarter panel into one order. On the 360 Sport itself, a performance hood with a scoop, black-or-white performance side tape stripes, and rear deck panel stripes were all standard rather than optional, while a separate Topper Package was available on both the plain Dart Sport and the 360 Sport. Interior seating on the 360 Sport ran to all-vinyl front bench seats standard, with vinyl full-volume foam bucket seats optional, and a cloth-and-vinyl or all-vinyl front bench with a fold-down armrest offered across both the plain Dart Sport and the 360 Sport.
Two further claims were found but not folded into this record's own figures. A forum thread repeats the 3,951 production figure from an unnamed publication lineage, a claim now superseded within this record by Flory's own directly cited table rather than needing further reliance on the forum snippet. A second claim names a "Hang Ten" limited-edition Dart Sport for 1974 in a retailer history article, but that article gives no production count or equipment detail, so this record carries the Hang Ten's existence only as an unpublished lead rather than a documented trim with its own specifications.1

Coverage: Partial — researched sections are shown; missing ones are not yet sourced. Researched through 2026-09-23.
Every figure is labeled with how sure we are. Reported means a manufacturer, registry, or reference figure we cite but have not reconciled against factory records ourselves. Disputed means credible sources disagree and both are shown. Rows are separately scoped; don't add them together unless the note says they make up a total.
