The 1974 restyle brought a new nose and more than doubled Trans Am output to 10,255. This record's own overview states that the 400 became the Trans Am's standard engine, with the 455 offered automatic-only and the Super Duty 455 optional, and that the SD-455 went into 943 Trans Ams and 58 Formulas in what proved to be its final year. Firebird production as a whole reached 73,729, made up of 26,372 base cars, 22,583 Esprits, 14,519 Formulas and the 10,255 Trans Ams.1,2
The base Firebird split 7,603 manual to 18,769 automatic. The Formula's engine rows read 13,759 with something other than a 455, 702 with the automatic-only 455, and 58 with the Super Duty 455, the last of those the smallest slice of any Formula engine this record documents. This record's own production notes state that the Trans Am's engine rows partition its 10,255 total directly: 1,750 manual and 2,914 automatic with the 400, 4,648 automatic-only with the 455, and the 943 SD-455 cars split 212 manual to 731 automatic, the key fact this record leads with.1
This record carries no price section for 1974; its own price notes explain that a J.D. Power valuation figure was pulled from every page on the site because those live pages can change without notice and cannot be independently checked, and that no replacement source has yet been found to stand behind. Five engines are documented instead: the 250 six at 100 hp and 175 lb-ft, the 350 two-barrel at 155 hp standard on Esprit and Formula, the 400 two-barrel at 170 hp optional, the 400 four-barrel at 230 hp standard on Trans Am and optional on Formula, the 455 four-barrel at 250 hp optional on Formula and Trans Am, and the Super Duty 455 at 290 hp and 395 lb-ft, also optional on both.1
This record's own optional-equipment tally, taken across the whole Firebird line, shows 66,126 of the 73,729 cars built with a V-8 against 7,603 with the six, 64,403 with automatic transmission against 4,543 four-speed and 4,783 three-speed manuals, and 38,192 cars fitted with the newly offered radial tires. Front disc brakes and power steering were each standard across all 73,729 cars, and 14,752 took the adjustable steering column. This record's own conflicts note flags a small discrepancy in vinyl-roof installations: the optional-equipment table prints 14,198 Cordova vinyl tops against 14,108 on a separate colors-page total, with the colors-page figure carried on the option row and the equipment-table figure recorded as the conflict.1
Pontiac offered sixteen exterior colors for 1974, and this record's own interior gallery documents the year's color-coded standard trims, opening with 761 White Seat, Black and 721 White with Black Appointments. No shipping weights, dimensions or factory-test performance figures survive in this record's own specifications and performance sections, both of which are left empty, and no identification details or unpublished leads are carried for the model year.1

- AMC AMX The final Javelin AMX: 4,980 built, with the Go Package's cowl induction dropped and a production run that stretched into November 1974.
- AMC Gremlin X and Spirit AMX The Gremlin X gained a 'hockey stick' stripe. The 304 V8 remained available, but no X or V8 counts for the year were found.

- Chevrolet El Camino SS Colonnade-era El Camino; Chevrolet's 1974 data pages define the RPO Z15 SS option for the El Camino Classic. Team Chevelle's production totals give 51,223 El Caminos built, 4,543 of them with SS equipment.
- Dodge Challenger The last original-era Challenger shared a catalog with the Dart; the 360 replaced the 340 as the optional engine and production ended in April 1974.
- Dodge Charger The last B-body Charger before the 1975 personal-luxury redesign, with 5-mph bumpers, carried-over powertrains and an SE that accounted for 30,957 V-8 cars.
- Dodge Dart GTS, Swinger and Demon The 360 replaced the 340 in the Dart Sport, and Flory's production table counts 3,951 Dart Sport 360s at a $3,244 base price.
- Ford Maverick Grabber Grabber production fell to 23,502 by Classic Industries count.
- Ford Ranchero GT The Ranchero GT continued on the 1972-76 Ranchero; 11,328 GTs were built, per reference-site counts in the Standard Catalog lineage.
- Ford Thunderbird Sixth-generation personal-luxury Thunderbird; the record holds the production total and the luxury-group option prices only.
- Ford Torino The 1974 Torino grew again and added the Gran Torino Elite; the Gran Torino Sport survived only as a formal-roof hardtop, with 23,142 built.
- Mercury Cougar Outside the muscle focus: 91,670 Cougars for 1974 per Wikipedia's table.
- Oldsmobile Cutlass, 4-4-2 and Hurst/Olds The Hurst/Olds paced the Indianapolis 500 again and offered a 350 for the first time: 1,800 coupes, 380 of them with the 455 W-30.
- Plymouth Barracuda and 'Cuda The final year: Barracuda and 'Cuda hardtops with a standard 318 and a new optional 360, and 11,734 built before the line ended.
- Plymouth Duster 340 and 360 The 245 net hp 360 replaced the 340 in the Duster's best sales year: 3,969 Duster 360s among 281,378 Dusters, with Twister, Gold Duster and Space Duster packages priced separately.
- Plymouth GTX, Belvedere and Satellite In 1974 a GTX nameplate came with the Road Runner's optional 440 four-barrel, TorqueFlite required; Mueller's Muscle Car Source Book counts 386 of them.

- Pontiac GTO The last original GTO: a package on the compact Ventura with a 200 hp 350; 7,058 built.
