The 1967 Cyclone and Cyclone GT continued as a two-door hardtop and convertible, and this record carries a genuinely self-contradicting production picture. Over-Drive Magazine's own fact sheet gives two different statements: 3,419 hardtops and 378 convertibles sold with the GT package in one sentence, and 2,682 standard Cyclones against 6,419 GTs in another; those two GT-side figures do not match each other, and Wikipedia's separate relay of Holder and Kunz gives 6,910 Cyclones overall with 809 convertibles, a total that equals neither of the fact sheet's own internal sums (2,682 plus 6,419 comes to 9,101). All three are shown as disputed pending a Mercury production report. The same fact sheet also states 60 Comets were built with the 427 FE side-oiler: 51 with the dual-four-barrel R-code at 425 hp and nine with the single-four-barrel W-code at 410 hp, six of them Capris and four Calientes among the non-convertibles, with one W-code car specifically a Capri.1,2

A separate Over-Drive Magazine mid-size production table partitions the Cyclone total differently, and more consistently: 2,682 plus 3,419 hardtops sums to 6,101, and 431 plus 378 convertibles sums to 809, matching Wikipedia's own convertible figure exactly. That reading implies the fact sheet's "6,419 GTs" sentence is the outlier rather than the hardtop or convertible split, but this record does not correct the fact sheet's own wording on the strength of that implication alone, since no source states outright which sentence is the error.3,4

The 390 four-barrel, GT-only, is rated 320 hp at 4,800 rpm and 427 lb-ft at 3,200 rpm, SAE gross. The two 427 side-oilers carry only horsepower, no torque or rpm figures in the sources available: the W-code single four-barrel at 410 hp, built in nine Comets, and the R-code dual four-barrel at 425 hp, built in 51. The fact sheet does not say which bodies beyond the noted six Capris and four Calientes make up the balance of the 60 side-oiler cars. No transmission information was found in an accessible documented source for the Cyclone this year, in contrast to the detailed engine, price, and option data the same fact sheet does carry.1

Factory prices ran $2,737 for the Cyclone hardtop, $3,034 for the Cyclone GT hardtop, and $2,997 for the Cyclone convertible; the Cyclone GT convertible is tabulated at $2,818, lower than the plain convertible and identical to the Caliente convertible's own row, which this record flags as a possible table error without correcting it, since no second price list was found to check it against. Among priced options, air conditioning ran $355.95, power steering $95, a tachometer $47.30, wire wheel covers $69.52, and a stereo tape system $128.50; power disc brakes and an Oxford roof were both priced at $84.25.3,1

Sixteen exterior colors were charted, from Sheffield Silver and Fawn through Trafalgar Blue, Burgundy, Inverness Green, and Sage Gold, each with its own single-character brochure code. The Cyclone measured a 116.0-inch wheelbase (113.0 in for wagons) and 73.8 in wide. Shipping weight ran 3,075/3,372 lb for the Cyclone/GT hardtop and 3,339/3,632 lb for the Cyclone/GT convertible. No interior trim or upholstery listing was found in an accessible documented source for the year, so the interiors section carries nothing further in this record.1,3

Coverage: Partial — researched sections are shown; missing ones are not yet sourced. Researched through 2026-09-22.

Every figure is labeled with how sure we are. Reported means a manufacturer, registry, or reference figure we cite but have not reconciled against factory records ourselves. Disputed means credible sources disagree and both are shown. Rows are separately scoped; don't add them together unless the note says they make up a total.

Where the sources disagree

1967 Cyclone and Cyclone GT production

  • 3,419 hardtops and 378 convertibles with the GT package1
  • 2,682 standard Cyclones and 6,419 GTs1
  • 6,910 Cyclones in all, 809 convertibles2

All three shown; the page contradicts itself and the Wikipedia total matches neither statement (2,682 + 6,419 = 9,101). Marked disputed until a Mercury production report is read.
