For 1967, its second year as a big-block car, the facelifted Fairlane continued the GT and GTA as Fairlane 500 hardtops and convertibles, while a 427 was offered in small numbers specifically for drag racing: a W-code dual-four-barrel at 410 hp and an R-code dual-four-barrel at 425 hp, with only 92 R-code cars built, all as two-door hardtops. The compiled fact sheet gives 256,931 Fairlanes delivered for the year, including 18,670 GT hardtops and 2,177 GT convertibles, with the plain Fairlane 500 two-door hardtop, at 70,135, the single largest body style built.1

Three conflicts run through the 1967 record, all traced to disagreements between the fact sheet's own text and a separate production table from the same publisher. The Fairlane total itself is disputed between 256,931 "delivered" (the fact sheet) and 239,688 "built" (the production table), shown side by side since the two documents use different accounting language and the source behind the higher figure is not named. The GT convertible count is disputed between 2,177 (fact sheet) and 2,117 (production table), with the table's figure at least internally consistent with its own 37,601 Fairlane 500 XL model total; and the Fairlane 500 XL convertible count is disputed between an earlier reading of a garbled fact-sheet caption (interpreted as 4,943, with its leading digit unclear on the page) and the production table's 1,943, which likewise fits that same model total. No primary factory document was found to settle any of the three.1,2

Beyond the disputed figures, the fact sheet's own body breakdown adds a Fairlane 500 XL hardtop at 14,871, a Fairlane 500 convertible at 5,428, a Fairlane 500 sedan at 52,552, a Fairlane 500 Deluxe wagon at 15,902, a Fairlane Squire wagon at 8,348, a plain Fairlane wagon at 10,881, and a plain Fairlane two-door sedan at 10,628; no plain Fairlane four-door sedan count was returned by that reading. The separate production table instead gives series totals of 41,249 for the plain Fairlane, 160,838 for the Fairlane 500, and 37,601 for the 500 XL including GT and GTA, plus a plain Fairlane four-door sedan figure of 19,740 that the fact sheet reading lacks.1,2

List prices ran from $2,297 (six) and $2,402 (V8) for the plain Fairlane two-door sedan up to $3,064 for the V8-only GT convertible, with the plain GT hardtop itself V8-only at $2,839. Between those, the Fairlane 500 sedan, hardtop, convertible, and wagon bodies ran from roughly $2,377 up to $2,824 by engine, the Squire wagon reached $2,902/$3,007, and the 500 XL hardtop and convertible ran $2,619/$2,724 and $2,843/$2,950. The standard 289 two-barrel made 200 hp and came standard on the GT/GTA (a $106 option elsewhere); the 390 two-barrel made 270 hp for $184, and the 390 GT four-barrel made 320 hp for $264, a drop from the fact sheet's own note that the 390 four-barrel had been rated 335 hp for 1966. The 427 options carry their own unreconciled discrepancy: the same price list separately lists a "390 hp" 427 four-barrel at $505, a rating that does not match the W-code's own 410 hp entry in the engines table.2,1

The standard three-speed manual ran 2.99/1.76/1.00 with the six or 289 and 2.42/1.76/1.00 with the 390, with a four-speed manual optional at $184, Cruise-O-Matic at $188 (six/289) or $220 (390), and a three-speed with overdrive available only behind the 289. On a 116.0-inch wheelbase (113.0 for wagons), the Fairlane measured 197.0 inches long (199.8 for wagons) and 74.0 inches wide, with a 58.0-inch track front and rear; GT/GTA cars specified 7.75 x 14 tires. Shipping weight with a V8 ran from 2,747 lb for a six-cylinder two-door sedan, the lightest body listed, up to 3,607 lb for the GT convertible, with the 500 XL hardtop at 3,039 lb and the GT hardtop at 3,301 lb. Seventeen exterior colors were charted for the year.1,2

Coverage: Partial — researched sections are shown; missing ones are not yet sourced. Researched through 2026-09-23.

Every figure is labeled with how sure we are. Reported means a manufacturer, registry, or reference figure we cite but have not reconciled against factory records ourselves. Disputed means credible sources disagree and both are shown. Rows are separately scoped; don't add them together unless the note says they make up a total.

Key facts

  • GT hardtop 18,670; GT convertible 2,177, per the compilation.1

1967 values were taken from a single summarizing read; a verbatim re-read was refused by the site and should be done before promotion. No base Fairlane 4-door sedan count was returned.

Rows prefixed pt- come from the site's separate production table. Its body rows partition its own 239,688 total; they do not partition the 256,931 delivered figure.

1967 Fairlane total

  • 256,931 delivered1
  • 239,688 built (production table total)2

Both shown; same publisher, different documents and accounting wording. The table lists no Ranchero rows; the source of the 256,931 figure is not named.

1967 GT convertible (76D)

  • 2,1771
  • 2,1172

Both shown; the table's figure is consistent with its own 500 XL model total of 37,601. Likely a transcription slip in one of them; no primary copy seen.

  • 4,943 (earlier reading of the fact-sheet text ',943')1
  • 1,9432

Both shown. The caption's leading digit is missing on the page; 1,943 is the table value and fits its model total.
